This bag of specialty coffee is extra special, because DIT invited the amazingly talented Isa Cheng, who drew inspiration from traditional Chinese painting to imbue the beautiful packaging with a sense of artistic elegance. Using the art of water marbling(國畫, 水印拓畫), Isa carefully blended traditional pigments in water, then gently placed rice paper on the surface, allowing the colors to flow and merge into unique, organic patterns. Each creation becomes a silent conversation between ink and paper, capturing the beauty of their delicate interplay. Isa believes this traditional technique unveils the subtle essence of things, much like DIT’s carefully selected Yunnan coffee beans, each telling its own story and flavor.

Isa is multi-talented and does everything from painting, to interior design, to styling fashion, documentary photography, creative direction etc etc. The painting she ended up using for this packaging she painted with traditional Chinese materials and techniques which she ended up digitizing for this packaging. The packaging also includes a bit of Chinese rice paper.

MORE ABOUT THE COFFEE

Specialty coffee from Yunnan, China is quite rare in Europe. That's exactly why we selected this coffee to offer you a new exciting experience with a carefully curated product. This coffee is a lighter roast, to accentuate the pleasant orange, apple and chocolate tones, however suitable for any coffee brewing method.

This is a washed coffee from the gorgeous mountainous province in Southwestern China called Yunnan. Tea has been grown on these hills for centuries. Since the early '90s coffee was reintroduced in Yunnan and in recent years the first specialty coffee was cultivated. This coffee is a product of various farmers in that region.

It is best consumed the period between one week to three months after roasting. This way you make sure freshness is assured, since roasted coffee loses its aromas as time passes
